NUSAHIBI Ecolodge

WORK TYPE : ARCHITECTURE DESIGN
Location : Sumba, Indonesia
YEAR: 2017
COLLABORATION : BASTIEN HUDELOT

Nusahibi, still processing the designing phase, will be built with bamboo, material famous for its energetic qualities and incredible resistance. The project attempt to be entirely self-sufficient and use as much as possible local resources in order to reduce the impact on the environment and show the people the good example to lead the island on the right way of development.

ECOLOGICAL CONCEPT

The aim of the project is to be in harmony with nature. For that purpose, we chose the bamboo as the main construction material. Exceptionally resistant and easily renewable, it will be maintained with natural treatment to optimize its durability.

THE MAIN BUILDING :
PAGODA STYLE

The main building will be the symbol of the project. By its imposing height, it will give relief to the site and maximise the views. Its original wavy roof will create different atmospheres in the lower and upper levels.

Self-sufficient bungalows

The interior design attempt to communicate a relaxing atmosphere always in accordance with nature. The whole bungalow is made by natural materials, such as alang-alang for the roof, bamboo for the structure, teak wood for the furniture…The valuable part of the house will be the outdoor bathroom and its garden view shower.
